On October 21, 2025, the 58th Annual Conference of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA) was held in Washington, D.C. Under the theme “Forecasting Latin America and the Caribbean,” the event focused on promoting trade and investment to drive regional growth. The conference was co-hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AACCLA. On behalf of MEBO Group Chairman Kevin Xu, Dr. Guoxin Tao, Assistant to the Chairman, attended the conference and engaged in discussions with leaders from across the Americas.

During the meeting, Dr. Tao met with H.E. Gabriela Sommerfeld, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador, to exchange views on enhancing bilateral cooperation and advancing sustainable development. Notably, in 2019, MEBO Chairman Kevin Xu launched the “Wave of Restoration: New MEBT Training in Latin America” initiative at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting. The first training session was held in Ecuador in 2022, providing technical education for more than 400 healthcare professionals and receiving national media coverage.

The discussion also touched upon the upcoming 10th Summit of the Americas, to be held in the Dominican Republic in December 2025, themed “Dimensions of Human Security.” MEBO’s continued participation underscores its commitment to fostering sustainable cooperation and shared progress across the Americas.
