APEC 2025 Gyeongju Kicks Off: Kevin Xu Leads MEBO Group’s 20-Person Delegation in Grand Entrance
On October 29, 2025, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit officially kicked off in Gyeongju, South Korea. This is the first time in 20 years that South Korea has hosted the APEC meeting, attracting nearly 2,000 attendees, including approximately 1,000 CEOs from 21 APEC economies. As a diamond sponsor of the summit, MEBO Group was represented by 20 members of its board, led by Chairman Kevin Xu and Vice Chairman Li Li.

In his opening remarks, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung emphasized, "APEC is not only a platform for economic cooperation but also a stage for shaping our shared future. Faced with the dual challenges of supply chain uncertainty and digital transformation, all members must work together to promote sustainable and inclusive growth."

Before the summit’s opening, MEBO Group’s delegation was invited to the APEC 2025 CEO Summit welcome dinner. Held at the Hwarang Village Harmony Square in Gyeongju, the event combined traditional Korean culture with modern technological elements, setting the stage for the APEC Leaders Week.

During the dinner, South Korean Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum attended and had discussions with Kevin Xu and Li Li. Prime Minister Kim stressed that no single country can face challenges alone and that collaboration among governments, businesses, academia, and civil society is crucial for fostering closer ties, collaborative innovation, and shared prosperity. Chairman Kevin Xu reiterated that APEC's value extends beyond trade; its core lies in building connections and fostering partnerships.
Vice President Liu Gang was also interviewed by KBS, where he elaborated on MEBO Group's three-year APEC strategy.
The dinner featured a blend of traditional dance and modern performance art, creating a vibrant atmosphere for international collaboration. MEBO Group’s delegation interacted with various guests, exploring opportunities for international cooperation under the APEC framework and laying the groundwork for high-level discussions and forums to follow.
The APEC summit is expected to generate an estimated economic impact of 7.4 trillion Korean won. The summit will continue until the weekend, with Kevin Xu scheduled to deliver a keynote speech on October 30.
