The second “Hello, Dance Student” Gala, hosted on August 2 at Beijing’s National Theater of Ethnic Song and Dance, spotlighted the transformative power of youth dance education in China. As a core program of the MEBO Starlight Initiative, the event showcased both talent and MEBO Group’s broader commitment to inclusive philanthropy.
Bridging Rural Gaps Through Art
The Starlight Initiative, co-launched by MEBO Group, the Jiang Kun Arts Philanthropy Fund, and the China Children’s Cultural and Arts Promotion Association, brings professional dance training to underprivileged children in rural areas, special schools, and welfare centers. The program fosters social equity by integrating dance education into communities with limited access to arts resources.
A Stage for Confidence and Dreams
Students from remote “Starlight Dance Studios” performed on a national stage for the first time, expressing dreams and self-belief through movement. MEBO Group President Yang Zhibin shared that the initiative aims to plant the seeds of art and confidence in every child’s heart.
