Kevin Xu Delivers Keynote at APEC 2025: Building a Human-Centered Digital Health Future

“Reliable and practice-based data is the lifeline of digital healthcare,” Xu stated. “True innovation begins with real-world practice — only through a solid data foundation can we achieve dynamic learning, precise adaptation, and continuous improvement.”
Drawing from MEBO’s experience in regenerative medicine and wound care across the APEC region, Xu highlighted how MEBO’s training and technological transfer programs have strengthened local emergency response capabilities while laying the groundwork for digitalized clinical assessment and diagnosis. He underscored the global relevance of regenerative medical science pioneered by Professor Rongxiang Xu, which offers accessible and effective solutions for chronic wound management and inclusive healthcare development.
Addressing the diversity of APEC economies, Xu called for balancing global standards with local adaptability, noting that AI and digital tools can enhance quality control while respecting regional conditions. He proposed three future directions for collaboration: integrating innovation with social responsibility, addressing health impacts of climate change, and building global humanitarian partnerships for joint action.

Xu also introduced the “Silver Healing: Equitable Community Wound Care” initiative, jointly launched with the Clinton Global Initiative, aimed at delivering regenerative care and community-based health education to underserved aging populations worldwide.
“As business innovation meets social value, and science connects with community needs, sustainable development becomes possible,” Xu concluded. His speech received wide attention from international media and reinforced MEBO Group’s leadership in advancing digital health cooperation across the Asia-Pacific.
Over the past three years—from San Francisco to Lima, and now Gyeongju—Kevin Xu, as former Chair of the APEC Host Committee, has continuously contributed forward-looking insights and practical initiatives to Asia-Pacific economic cooperation and global health governance. Looking ahead, he aims to further extend bridges of collaboration through APEC and beyond, connecting diverse partners to build a more inclusive, resilient, and vibrant future for the Asia-Pacific and the world.
