Kevin Xu Meets H.R.H. Princess Astrid During Belgian Economic Mission to California
On October 6, 2025, H.R.H. Princess Astrid of Belgium, representing His Majesty the King, led a high-level Belgian Economic Mission to the U.S. West Coast. The mission, comprising nearly 500 business leaders, is one of the largest Belgian delegations to visit the United States in recent years.
During the Power Lunch hosted by the Federation of Belgian Enterprises, Kevin Xu, Executive Committee Member and Director of the Bay Area Council (BAC), former Chair of the APEC Host Committee, and Chairman of MEBO Group, met with Princess Astrid. The event was also attended by California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation between Belgium and California’s Bay Area in green technology, life sciences, digital economy, and sustainable development. To further enhance exchange, the Bay Area Council hosted a welcome reception aboard the historic Klamath on October 5.
The visit built on the cooperation agenda initiated at the 25th Brussels Economic Forum (BEF) earlier this year, underscoring the Bay Area’s pivotal role as a hub for global innovation and international collaboration.
